DEVELOPING TEACHERS’ DIGITAL CULTURE AS A PREREQUISITE FOR EFFECTIVE PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICE IN TOURISM
Abstract
In the context of a dynamically evolving digital environment and rapid technological change, the formation of digital culture among teachers has become a key factor for providing high-quality and effective education in the field of tourism. This report examines digital culture as a set of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values related to the informed and ethical use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in pedagogical practice. An analysis is presented of the teacher’s role in contemporary tourism education, where the digital environment not only supports the acquisition of theoretical knowledge but also creates opportunities for simulations, virtual tours, and interactive learning scenarios. The importance of continuous professional development, digital competence, and critical thinking is emphasized as essential prerequisites for improving the quality of the educational process and for preparing competitive professionals for the tourism industry. The conclusion highlights that building a high level of digital culture among teachers is not merely a technical necessity but a strategic investment in the future of tourism education.
