Abstract: The article examines the possibility of increasing the efficiency of turning parts by using CNC double- spindle lathes. A classification of these machines is made based on the number of turrets and consoles and the spindles served by them. The areas of application of these machines have been defined to make their use economically profitable. Recommendations are given related to the development of technological processes for machining parts on double- spindle lathes. The main advantages and disadvantages of this type of equipment are presented, which should be taken into account when developing technological processes.
