Abstract: The design and development of simulation models using the PTV VISSIM software represent a fundamental stage in the analysis and optimization of transport systems. This paper explores the methodology for constructing and implementing a simulation model of a traffic safety environment through the application of PTV VISSIM. The primary objective of the study is to develop an optimal model capable of realistically replicating urban traffic dynamics, thereby enabling comprehensive analysis of road user behavior. The constructed model integrates essential elements of the transport infrastructure, including road networks, intersections, pedestrian crossings, pedestrian areas, and parking facilities. Such integration facilitates the examination of diverse traffic scenarios-ranging from normal operating conditions to emergency and conflict situations. The simulation-based approach further contributes to driver training, behavioral assessment of learner drivers, students, and pupils, as well as to the evaluation of the effectiveness of various traffic safety enhancement measures. The findings demonstrate that employing PTV VISSIM as a modeling instrument for traffic safety environments ensures a high level of realism and adaptability, while also enabling the application of scientifically grounded methodologies for modeling, analysis, and optimization of transport processes within an educational and research context.
