INTELLIGENT ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN BUILDINGS
Abstract
This paper examines the role of intelligent energy management systems in buildings, which are becoming increasingly important due to rising energy costs and environmental concerns. Buildings account for 40 % of global energy consumption and 30 % of CO2 emissions, highlighting the need for innovation in energy management. The paper explores technologies such as sensors for lighting, climate control, and electrical appliances, combined with optimization algorithms for energy efficiency. These systems provide automated solutions for monitoring and controlling energy use, reducing costs and emissions. Examples of smart buildings worldwide demonstrate the effectiveness of such systems in achieving sustainability. The research underscores the potential of intelligent systems to optimize energy consumption, improve comfort, and contribute to climate goals. The paper concludes with a focus on the need for ongoing technological development and user awareness to fully realize the benefits of these systems.
