PHRASEOLOGISMS IN BULGARIAN LANGUAGE USED FOR EXPRESSIVE INDICATION OF POSITIVE PERSONALITY TRAITS

Abstract

Being sings intended to carry culturally significant meaning, phraseologisms can indicate expressively various mental, intellectual and volitional characteristics of personality, providing most clearly the idea about the metaphorical models and value landmarks adopted in Bulgarian language. Phraseologisms which characterize negative personality traits prevail in Bulgarian language, yet there is a small group of phraseologisms which indicate figuratively the positive personality traits, i.e. they imply a positive connotation, and they exactly are the subject of this research.
