Abstract

The paper examines the situation of women in the Balkan states of Bulgaria, Greece and Romania, offering an overview from a legal perspective. It evaluates how the gender equality laws correspond with the current situation of women. The study performs a retrospection of the legal frame since the 19th century until the present day, presenting a vivid picture of the rise of women’s rights and the freedoms in their life of then and now.
