SUSTAINABLE DESIGN AND ITS INTERACTION WITH MODERN MOLDING METHOD “GIGA PRESS”
Abstract
Sustainable design as a modern paradigm for the rational utilization of resources is entering more and more perceptibly in all possible sub-sectors of the processing industry and changes to a great extent not only the properties of the created product, but also the requirements for professional teams dealing with design and production issues. Derived from the current economic and social term "sustainability", characterized by the idea of the coexistence of people on Earth for a long time, sustainable design is the logically formed approach to push the political-economic ideology of Sustainability into the processes of creating material goods.
The path of the industrial technical product is long and full of many challenges expressed most clearly in the correct implementation of technological processes so that productivity does not decrease, to preserve the useful qualities and, last but not least, to minimize the carbon footprint. Globally, casting of metal parts is often and rightly defined as a polluting process, but at the same time the most preferred method of production due to technological and economic considerations.
Thanks to scientific discoveries in the field of technology and the gradual change in the architecture of production systems through the imposition of revolutionary design methods based on ideology such as "sustainable design", today, at the moment, there are such approaches in the foundry industry that not only improve the structural, the technological, visual and economic indicators, but also the ecological ones in order to make possible the transition both to the absolute satisfaction in material terms of the increasingly demanding mass consumer, and to a harmonious interaction between man and nature.
