DESIGN FEATURES OF THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN ELECTRIC AND HYBRID VEHICLES
Abstract
One of the main reasons for the slower mainstream adoption of battery electric vehicles is their limited range, higher cost than conventional vehicles and limited battery life. The need to reduce the electrical energy of auxiliary systems in electric vehicles is of prime importance. There is a system that greatly affects the mileage of the electric car, but always the electric car users do not pay enough attention. This is an electric vehicle thermal management system. Many on-board systems of an EV require thermal management, battery, electric motors, cabin and power electronics. The thermal management system is not only extremely important for the energy-efficient operation of an electric car, but also plays a key role in the safety caused by overheating of all devices. cabin and electric motors overheating can prevent the normal operation of the electric car, while battery overheating can lead to catastrophic thermal runaway, which can end with undesirable consequences. This thermal management system is extremely important for the range covered on a single charge of the battery and the driving safety of the electric vehicle.
