Abstract

The present research focuses on health care issues in the United States and specifically on access to health care. The problem largely concerns the protection of vulnerable groups of persons and overcoming discriminatory practices caused by the lack of financial resources. President Barack Obama is carrying out the most comprehensive reform to health care system in the United States since the enactment of Medicare/Medicaid in 1965 through administering the process of promulgation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
