Abstract

The healing power of honey has been known since ancient times. It is used both orally and by direct application. Honey can be used as a local wound dressing agent in surgery. It is rich in sugars, mainly glucose and fructose (about 80%), as well as over 180 other compounds - proteins, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and phenolic phytochemicals. The main substance that provides the antimicrobial function is enzymatically synthesized hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). In addition to the chemical way, the honey massage also affects through its physical properties. Like any massage of this metabolism, it opens new capillary collaterals and moves the hypodermis and the underlying fascia. Honey massage renews the skin by removing the corns and the layer. Honey massage was applied to two patients - one with Acanthosis Nigricans and one with Acne Vulgaris. The methodology used is the so-called "pumping" - first the fingers are glued, then the palm, then the palm is peeled off, and the fingers remain partially glued. In this way, the hypodermis and fascia are moved, and toxins, dead cells and sebum are released from the skin. At the end of the procedure, the honey has transformed into "glue". On the skin of patient 1 with Acne Vulgaris, after 6 treatments, a significant reduction in pimples with pus peaks, as well as scarification, was observed. On the skin of patient 2 Acanthosis Nigricans - after only 1 procedure, a clearing of the brown spots was observed, as well as a renewal of the skin. Honey massage is effective in improving at least 2 skin defects (Acanthosis Nigricans and Acne Vulgaris) with minimal side effects. This is an extremely cheap and potentially accessible manipulation, due to the low price of honey and the easy application technique.
