TOLERANCE OF MAIZE LINE 26A TO SOME POST-EMERGENCE HERBICIDES
Abstract
A field experiment was conducted at the IASS “Obraztsov chiflik” - Ruse to evaluate the effectiveness and selectivity of maize line 26A in relation to its productivity under different herbicide systems. Six treatment variants were studied, including three post-emergence herbicides - Adengo 465 SC, Laudis OD, and Chemniko 25 SC, applied once or twice at optimal doses with a 20-day interval. The results showed that the applied herbicides ensured yields close to the genetic potential of line 26A, confirming their good selectivity and compatibility with the crop. A positive effect was observed on the main yield structural components, with no statistically significant differences compared to the control variants, indicating the absence of phytotoxic effects. The findings highlight the importance of implementing an integrated weed management approach, combining agronomic and chemical control measures within the entire crop rotation. This contributes to sustainable maize production and reduces the negative impact on the environment.
