Abstract

Pes anserinus bursitis is an inflammation of the musculotendinous structures and bursae located on the anteromedial aspect of the knee. The condition most often involves the m. gracilis, m. sartorius and m. semitendinosus, which can become overloaded due to repetitive movements. Pes anserinus bursitis can also be caused by acute trauma or by concomitant diseases such as osteoarthritis, obesity, valgus deformity of the knee, meniscal damage. The consequences of neglecting pes anserinus bursitis include constant and acute pain, reduced range of motion, muscle weakness, changes in gait, which lead to significant difficulties in performing activities of daily living and reduce the quality of life. These disorders require an individual approach, which can be found in the face of kinesitherapy, which includes specialized and analytical treatment and preventive strategies. The present study examines a patient with pes anserinus bursitis and aims to propose kinesitherapy tools to improve the functional state of the lower extremities.
